Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to report a refrigerator that I bought from your shop a week ago that unfortunately has a couple of problems. The brand I chose was Cold Point, blue in colour and with a capacity of 350 litres.
There are two things which need immediate attention. First, the bottom glass shelf was cracked when the refrigerator arrived. The delivery driver assured me that someone from your shop would come by in two days to arrange for a replacement. One week has passed now and I have not heard from anyone yet. Secondly, there is something wrong with the defrost system. Every time the refrigerator defrosts itself, a puddle of water forms on the floor in front of it. This is both a bother and a danger as someone may slip and fall.
I have been coming to your store for the last four years and this is the first time something like this has happened. I am sure that you are as concerned as I am about these problems. You may kindly get in touch with me soon to arrange a time when a repair man can fix the defrost system and replace the damaged shelf.
Yours faithfully,
John Lewis.
Dear Philip,
I am writing to request four days' leave from Monday 14th to Wednesday 17th to attend a family event. My elder brother is getting married and they have decided to hold the wedding in Sydney in Australia where the bride is from. I hope you appreciate how important and special this event is for me and my keen desire to be by his side on this landmark occasion.
Our family has decided to travel to Australia a few days early so that we could oversee the necessary arrangements for the wedding and use the opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing. There are many attractions in Sydney I have come to learn about from my friends who live there and would like to visit. The trip will also give me a chance to spend some time with them as I haven't seen most of them in a long time.
I have already had a talk with Mr.John at the office about this situation and he has readily agreed to cover for me during the said dates. He has worked in my position before and as the days are not that hectic this time of year he should be able to manage all the responsibilities smoothly. Further,I would always be available online in case there is anything urgent.
Thank you very much for your consideration of my request.
Yours faithfully,
Philip Emerson.
Dear Luke,
I hope you are doing fine and that you had a wonderful time at your birthday party.I can't start to tell you how sorry I am for missing it.I thought I should write to you and explain what had happened.
As I told you the last time we spoke, I was so looking forward to your party, thoroughly excited at the prospect of meeting you all after a long gap of one year. I even went as far as making a mental list of things we should be doing on your special day and could not wait for it to arrive. However, one of my colleagues fell seriously on the eve of the big event putting a spoke in my plans, forcing me to cancel my leave as we were shamefully understaffed at that time. Everyone at the office felt sorry for me as they knew of my plans for the day off saying I must be devastated to have to miss it.
I don't know how to apologise you for not coming to your birthday bash and would like to try to make up for that by inviting you to go to a football match next Sunday for which I have already bought tickets. I hope you will make it.
I will speak to you soon.
Richard
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to claim insurance for the medical expenses I incurred while on holiday in Australia last week.
While I was on holiday in Australia I sustained a badly sprained ankle as a result of tripping over a curb which caused me to check in at the local hospital there. They strapped up my ankle and gave me a prescription for some medication to relieve the pain.
I was charged the equivalent of 200 pounds for the treatment and I had to spend 50 pounds for the medication I bought from the pharmacist.I am attaching the invoice which provides details of the injury and the hospital where I underwent treatment as well as the receipt for the medication purchased.
I seek to reclaim the above mentioned amount of money under the terms of the travel insurance policy I had taken out with you.I trust that we can settle this claim quickly, within 4 weeks of the date of this letter. Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Winson John.
Dear Sir,
I am a tenant at one of your properties at Park Street and am writing to tell you about some repairs that need to be carried out in the house in detail. I hope you remember the last conversation I had with you by phone, in which I brought the matter to your attention. You assured me that you would send someone over to have a look at the issues as soon as possible. Unfortunately, one week has passed now but nothing has happened.
One main issue that requires immediate fixing is the water seepage due to the heavy rains in the city since the last ten days. A large amount of water has already been collected on the terrace and as a result the water has seeped through the ceilings. It has already damaged the walls and the ceiling plaster. It is further damaging the wood work in the living room. Further, two of the doors seem to have swollen up absorbing all the moisture present in the air making them quite difficult to shut.
Since the matter is of great urgency and our security and safety is involved I demand that you have these repairs done without any more delay. You may contact me on the phone to arrange for a time for the repair works to be carried out.
Yours faithfully
Mathew Joe.
